Bursting Test

A burst test is a destructive test used to measure the pressure overload capability of elements that contain pressure. The tests are carried out using a fluid.

This test is frequently conducted as a pre-production test to ensure that safety and quality criteria are met. It is useful to determine the margin between the maximum pressure level and the pressure when the
product entirely fails to test the reliability of items (burst pressure). The burst test is performed in the pre-production phase, especially for items where failure is not an option, and is frequently performed on parts
out of production.
